Post nasal drip describes mucus discharge from the back of the nose down the throat.
Post Nasal Drip Symptoms
- Excessive mucus accumulating in the throat
- Frequent throat clearing or cough, especially at night
- Hoarse, raspy, or breathy voice
- Halitosis and bad taste in mouth from dripping secretions
- Nausea, reflux, or vomiting in severe cases

- Medical history of chronic nasal/post nasal symptoms
- Physical exam of nasal passages and throat
- Allergy testing or CT scan to identify causes
